     Another illustration using pen and ink, acrylic paint pens, and imagination. I love the use of words in my art. I've been a calligrapher and calligraphy artist since about 1982 and have watched it evolve over many different styles. Today my goal is to start one of these illustrations in the shape of a cat but still working on the ideas of which words to use. This mind drawing was inspired by a poem I wrote during the pandemic after a walk on the beach.

     The human mind calligram seen here is one of my earliest calligrams and second place to my wiener dog calligram, this was a top seller. Hundreds were sold all around the world via Etsy. Etsy was a fantastic site in its earlier years sticking only to handmade items sold directly from the artist themselves. Now things on Etsy are manufactured all over the world and sellers offer up whatever they can find that's acceptable on the platform. Etsy says that as long as you have some small hand in the manufacturing of the item, then you can sell it. This means, even if all you do is have the order dispatched directly from the maker, it's acceptable. Completely different engine from its early years.
